VIRAL: Caloocan City Prosecutor reveals unknown facts about Kian’s death

In the hype of Kian’s controversial death, different accounts as to how or why he died are continuously being entertained by the people and by the media as well. It was actually the latter that put the controversy in the limelight after revealing a significant CCTV footage showing Kian being nabbed by two police officers an hour before his death.

That footage further intensified the already heightened issue producing new speculations and suspicions indicting the cops guilty over Kian’s death.

While the people outcry for justice over Kian’s death, some individuals with first-hand knowledge on the issue tried to elucidate things for the public. One of which is Caloocan Asst. City Prosecutor Darwin Cañete. In his FB post, he laid out 4 factual premises concerning the death of the 17 year-old boy.

    His assertions were as follows:

“1. Kian was in possession of the shabu sachets long before the police got him. This is based on the SOCO pictures of the body where the sachets clearly left an impression on the side of the body just under the garter of his printed boxers. IF the shabu was planted, it will not leave those marks on the skin.

    2. Kian was not tortured nor hurt contrary to the claim of a supposed witness. There were no marks of physical abuse on the body as can be seen on the photos, too. The family did not want an autopsy to be performed.

    3. The controversial CCTV video which made the case sensational is not fake but it was not Kian on the video because the color of the t-shirt and the lower garments are not the same. The CCTV footage was also recorded an hour before the incident. It is highly probable that it is not connected to Kian's case.

    4. They have Kian's phone which contains text messages between Kian, his supplier and their clients. This will be presented if required to those who wish to hold an inquiry.”

Meanwhile, Atty. Paula Defensor Knack, an International Law expert, in one of her Facebook posts referred to Cañete’s position. Atty. Knack also urged the public to read and understand Cañete’s perspective on the incident.

“IMPT. FACTS: My friend, Fiscal Darwin Canete of Caloocan, posted this before he was banned. I urge you to read this , and thank you to the blogger who passed this on to me. MABUHAY!” Atty. Knack ended.
