COMELEC: A corrupt agency since 2013?

Recently, the media was overwhelmed with news about the controversial fraud allegation against Comelec Commissioner Andres Bautista revealed and justified by his own wife, Patricia Bautista, through an affidavit the latter submitted to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) last August 1, 2017.

The issue solicited a lot of criticisms and speculations not only from the netizens but from numerous socio-political critics and personalities as well.

One of whom was Greco Belgica, a former senatorial candidate during the May 2016 elections and an active advocate for youth and reform.

In his official Facebook fan page, Belgica published a post where he expressed his sentiments about the Commission on Elections. Asserting that anomalies of this ilk had long been practiced in the commission, Belgica pointed out that this recent controversy by Bautista is indeed a proof that the so-called “day of reckoning” has finally come.

“The day of reckoning has come. I have been exposing this corrupt agency since 2013 with complete evidence of fraud. It was taught to me by Atty Glenn Chong. Pinagpasapasahan nalang nila ang sistema ng PCOS that they sell to politicians to rob the Filipinos of their votes and put their corrupt affiliates in power,” wrote Belgica.

“The Pnoy led LP syndicates perfected the PCOS fraud but miraculously failed cheating PRRD's vote sa dami. Ganito lang pala siya mayayari. Exposed by his own wife. Thank you Lord. The day of reckoning has come,” he added, implying that it was the Liberal Party who initiated the PCOS electoral scheme.

Belgica also mentioned in his post the controversial defeat of then vice presidential front-runner, former Senator Bongbong Marcos against Liberal Party’s vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo.

Given these speculations, Belgica affirmed that discrepancies concerning the ranks of the poll commission were long started by some of Bautista’s predecessors including Brilliantes and Melo.

“Saan mangagaling ang mga perang yan at properties e Comelec Commissioner ka lang. Except from politicians who bribed him to make them win. Kaya natalo si BBM, No.1 si Drilon at iba pa. And it did not start from Comm. BAUTISTA, si Brilliantes pa at Melo. Sa kanila nagsimula ang PCOS electronic cheating system,” Belgica stated ending his post.
