Francis Kong backs Duterte, silenced Philippine Daily Inquirer's journalist

Marlon Ramos, a journalist from the Philippine Daily Inquirer, had raised a controversial concern addressed to President Rodrigo Duterte regarding his promise to cleanse the Philippines from illegal drugs within the first six months of his presidency.

“He promised to end illegal drugs within six months of his presidency. Now he is saying that he’d be doing it until 2022, until the last day of his office,” said Ramos.

Well-known businessman and inspirational speaker Francis J. Kong then responded in defense of President Duterte. Manifesting his business prowess, Kong had claimed his understanding of business and made an analogy out of it.

“I am a person who understands business. You don’t get results by means of an event. To get good results you need processes,” said Francis Kong.

Kong continued his statement pointing out that process takes time. Identifying the problem already grants 50% of the solution and patience, therefore, is needed to yield a successful outcome.

“So if you’re a business person with a business mindset, identifying the problem is already 50% of the solution. So I would rather still say that we got to be patient and wait for more results and a lot of things will be challenged in the process,” asserted Kong, referring to Duterte’s fight against illegal drugs.

The said statement given by Kong had “silenced” Inquirer reporter Marlon Ramos.

Meanwhile, Francis J. Kong, according to inspireleaders.com.ph,  is one of the most respected business speakers in the country. He earns the distinctions as being one of the recipients for 2014 The Outstanding Filipino Awards.

Aside from being an entrepreneur, Kong is also a columnist, a broadcaster, book author, and an inspirational speaker.

He runs a radio program called Business Matters at DZFE-FM 98.7. He spoke at over 300 talks, seminars and training locally and internationally and has authored more 18 books already.
