An appeal from former UN General Assembly delegate to his fellow Filipinos

An appeal from former United Nations General Assembly delegate Michael Francis Acebedo Lopez:

"I've a simple request from all of you, a simple advocacy I hope you can support. Summer has started and many of us are going to post our vacation photos with family and friends.

Please always, in all your pictures on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, use #PHILIPPINES.

Whether in the islands of Boracay, Cebu, or Palawan, or in the urban areas of Manila, Cebu, Makati, Taguig, Davao, or CDO, wherever, when posting photos of scenic spots, food, groupies or selfies, use hashtag Philippines.

This is one simple way we can, whilst we R&R, correct the mistaken impression of the world toward our country as a dangerous place, an erroneous image courtesy of Leni, Leila, and LP. Imagine when they google search "Philippines" as keyword, and all of those photos come out, not the exaggerated photos of bodies in streets as if we're in a failed state.

Expose their lies through the beautiful truth that the #PHILIPPINES--yes, we're far from perfect, but at least we're getting our act together--is actually paradise on earth!

    Please spread the word."
